Yesterday, Rabbis from Kashrus agencies across the country gathered in Brooklyn to see and hear how to remove the Anisakis worm from fish.

The seminar was sponsored by the Vaad HaKashrus of Flatbush, under the direction of its Rav HaMachshir, Rabbi Meir Goldberg. The Vaad had flown in Rabbi Shneur Zalman Revach and his assistant Yehudah to demonstrate. The event was videoed and projected so the hundreds of participants could better see. Representatives from CRC in Chicago, Star K in Baltimore and Kashrus agencies across the country flew in to attend the seminar. The OU, the Vaad of Queens, the Five Towns Vaad HaKashrus was also in attendance

The note pasted on the driver’s door says - "In case of traffic violations, please contact The Palestinian Authority.”

The Israelis have evidence of ambulances and emergency vehicles set up the same way.

Shavuot is the second of the three major festivals with both historical and agricultural significance (the other two are Passover and Sukkot)

Comment: In Shmot/Exodus 20:15 it mentions that the people saw the sounds and were frightened when the Aseret HaDibrot/10 Commandments were uttered and asked Moshe Rabeinu to relate it to them instead. How can one see sounds? What frightened them so much? An unrelated experience I had, brought me to think that maybe Hashem caused the mountains and nature to vibrate and emit the sounds and that, may have been part of what frightened them so much. Therefore, going further, it also possibly may be that Hashem sometimes gently still talks to us with happenings and nature.

henryporter2 — May 10, 2010 — When Israel liberated the Temple Mount on June 7th, 1967, the prophetic clock began ticking anew. The place where King David and his son Solomon first built the Holy Temple is back in the hands of their descendants. Come what may, the Holy Temple will be rebuilt!

This amazing historical clip, shows the leader describing entering in the "Ir HaAtikah/The (beloved) "Old City", going through the gates, Later, someone shouts "Har HaBayit B'Yadeinu" /The Temple Mount is in our hands! It show how miraculous it was to to return after years of exile and enter the Temple Mount. The leader thanks Hashem for the return with a hardy prayer while other soldiers, all coming from different Jewish backgrounds and observance & non-observance, respond with a huge "Amen!". Further in the clip, they raise a flag while singing the Haktivah/Israel's national anthem and then proceeded towards the Kotel HaMa'aravi/Western Wall. Someone describes his experience on descending the steps into the Kotel. As he arrives, he finds all the soldiers reciting in amazing unison the SheHeCheyanu prayer upon experiencing their first time at the Kotel. In the clip, with the eye patch is Moshe Dayan. Also to mark the incredible occasion, the shofar is sounded and a small Torah scroll is present

Jerusalem (1982)

(1982) Dry Bones cartoon: Jerusalem and Mecca.
Today's Golden Oldie is a Dry Bones cartoon I did 28 years ago in 1982.

Tonight is erev Yom Yerushalayim, the eve of Jerusalem Day, which marks the happy day in 1967 when Jerusalem was liberated and thus became open to all faiths. It reminds us of the Double Standard exhibited by a world that is not bothered by the Saudi closing of the "Holy City" of Mecca to all non-Muslims.

Below are a few Saudi highway signs.
