Reclaiming of Hershkowitz Property Delayed Again

For 17 years Yitzchak Hershkowitz has been in and out of courts and police headquarters trying to evict Arab squatters from a property he owns in Jerusalem. There has been a court order to evict the Arab clan who took over the property but the clan's representatives have been using every legal method in the book to stall the implementation of the order. On Wednesday Israel National News TV planned to document the implementation of the order, but met Hershkowitz yet again disappointed as he came out of the Jerusalem police headquarters not far from the property. This time the squatters used the Supreme Court to delay the eviction.

Hershkowitz was joined by activist Baruch Marzel who also came to the area to witness the eviction of the squatters. Marzel told IsraelNNTV about how he looks at this case in wake of the recent activities of authorities against unauthorized Jewish outposts. Marzel says that the police act swiftly and determinedly only against Jewish construction and are incompetent when it comes to illegal Arab construction
