The trial of a Dutch anti-islam politician charged with hate crimes has begun in Amsterdam. It is a landmark case testing the limits of free speech in the Netherlands. Geert Wilders has been charged with incitement of hatred and discrimination against Muslims. In his short film, Fitna, he compared the Koran to Hitler's Mein Kampf. Supporters of Mr Wilders have been demonstrating outside the Amsterdam court. If he loses he faces two years in prison -

MaximsNewsNetwork: HAITI: BRAZIL DELIVERS: AID, FOOD AND WATER (U.N. MINUSTAH)
Port-au-Prince, Haiti - Brazil aims to distribute 15 tons of food and 22,000 liters of water to the population in Haiti in the coming days.
On Friday, daily food distributions reached 4,000 quake survivors in Port-au-Prince.
UN Force Commander Major-General Floriano Peixoto Vieira Neto said security is absolutely under control.
Eighteen flights have delivered 200 tons of aid including food, water, tents, medicine, a hospital and medical equipment.
There are 46 medical doctors and nurses on the ground, along with 50 firefighters who specialize in search and rescue using sniffer dogs.
Brazil contributes the bulk of troops to the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti. Nearly 1,300 Brazilian UN peacekeepers work in rescue operations.
It leaves me to wonder where are the equipment and medicine that is so much needed? Jan 23 '10
A search conducted by Population Management officers from the Home Front Command, headed by Lt. Col. Rami Peletz, were directed to the location of the trapped man by local residents.
American and French doctors were unable to rescue the trapped man and called upon the Israeli delegations search and rescue teams who rescued the man within half an hour, from a tunnel, 2.5-3-meters long and were able to release him whole and healthy, said Maj. Zohar Moshe, a member of the rescue team

Police arrested 15 people over public order offences after a far-right group marched through Stoke-on-Trent
When octogenarian Chicagoan Sam Pfeffer heard about the Bnei Menashe, a people who claim descent from a lost tribe of Israel and practice the Jewish faith, he decided to obtain a Torah and deliver it to them in remote north-eastern India. So began a personal odyssey across half a world of geography and 3000 years of history.
This Song Is Old follows Sam Pfeffer as he goes beyond forensic science and contemporary political intrigue to the heart of belief and belonging and fights to help the Bnei Menashe come home to Israel - http://www.thissongisold.com/

Great comedian. The sad thing is that his comedy, would be really funny if it was not so true. He also would make a great news commentator.

The Israelites encounter with the deadly Amalek clearly shows the danger when our faith in G-d weakens. But faith in G-d is not enough. Even the wicked can be men of faith.

In America it is apparently not uncommon these days to see drivers resting a BlackBerry on top of the steering wheel while using their thumbs to tap in a text message. Legislators across America are debating and developing "anti-texting-while-driving" laws.

Smart Phones, Dumb People
In America it is apparently not uncommon these days to see drivers resting a BlackBerry on top of the steering wheel while using their thumbs to tap in a text message. Legislators across America are debating and developing "anti-texting-while-driving" laws.
A recent study by America's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute shows that 80 percent of car crashes involve some form of driver distraction occurring within three seconds before the vehicle crash. According to the study, the principal distraction that led to vehicle crashes include:
•Cell phone use.Life in the 21st Century is becoming more and more bizarre. That's why I fantasize about time travelers returning to 1958 with reports about what it's like here in the future.
•Reaching for moving objects inside the vehicle.
•Looking at an object or event outside of the vehicle.
•Reading while driving.
•Applying makeup." -more
